Writing resource set

Planning or scoring student writing?

There is no separate writing-process workbook linked in the supplied IDOE framework.

The framework leaves every grade's “Apply the writing process” row blank. These are the current official resources for the writing performance task, scoring rubrics, released tasks, and student samples.

The Learning Lab collections may ask teachers to sign in or create a free account. The IDOE hub and Performance Task Design PDF are the non-blocking starting points.
Three independent dials

Important: text complexity, task demand, and evidence demand can sit at different levels. A verb alone never determines rigor.

Plain language

Find a term without leaving the work.

Use with care.

✓ Do not label rigor from the verb alone; stimulus, context/synthesis, and response reasoning all matter.
✓ Do not treat checkpoint or summative data as diagnostic by itself.
✓ Do not assume each proficiency level maps to one fixed matrix row; adjacent dimensions can overlap.
✓ Do not expose the entire official corpus at once; reveal the next resource in the selected guided path.
✓ Mark refreshed and coming resources clearly; availability varies during the 2026-2028 rollout.
